Black Women: Why Are Black Hair Products in the "ethnic" Aisle at the Stores?
I know some black people that are really touchy about things like this. They want everything to be seperate from white people and as a result things like this happen. I agree with you saying that all products related to each other should be in the same aisle. I think even small things like seperating hair products due to ethnicity can bring on bad feelings1. Best hair products for more volume?i blow dry my hair upside down and hair spray it and it adds some volume...i hope i helped in some way =)2. What hair products are best to use on my biracial children?Hi, I am of mixed-heritage (Black and white) also and my hair is EXTREMELY curly as well, practically from birth. Some of the products my mother used on my hair, growing up are Luster's Pink Lotion (EXCELLENT product), Thermasilk (a hair product that is foamy in substance) and Cream of Nature shampoo. Also try a hair pomade--I picked up a can and it works wonders for straightening and smoothing the hair. You can use it while combing and/or if you straighten the hair with an iron. It works as well either way. Another product you can use from my personal experience, believe it nor, are skin creams and lotions. For instance, I use plain old Breck baby cream on my hair (best while wet) and it works well. Also, mix a spray bottle with conditioner and water and use it while combing your childrens' hair. That is very effective in keeping tangles down and curls conditioned. One more thing: NEVER use a brush. I learned the painful way growing up that using brushes on very curly hair is ineffective. Stick to combs.3. Is it possible for hair to regrow in patterned bald spots? This is a NATURAL, safe, treatment that truly stops loss almost straight away and forces regrowth. It has helped others on ANSWERS.(can send you info.) Massage thoroughly with olive or any natural oil - then brush vigorously using a palm held brush with short natural boar bristles - soft bristled for fine straight hair and stiff bristled for thicker non straight hair- so you really feel it stimulating scalp - 90 /100 strokes at beginning building up to more - each day, focusing on where loss is. Will heal scalp and unplug blocked hair ducts that sometimes cause loss - they are the painful small itching spots. A little shedding and breakage may occur at first but quickly stops as brushing makes hair stronger and better anchored. Hair will grow fast, thicker and It will force the new growth. Initially new hairs will be weak looking and sparse. Do not be concerned if brushing uproots them as they will re-appear even stronger. My hair has completely regrown on crown. Where receded at front regrowth was slower and sparse at first then each month it became denser. It demands perseverance week in, week out to get the same results. Thinning and loss can be caused by many shampoos - particularly anti dandruff ones - and hair products that contain countless hair, scalp and even health harming harsh and toxic ingredients. Find "Non harmful shampoos, etc" with Google searches. Some will come up and be expensive or only available on-line so refine search by adding "low cost". Available in GNC, Trader Joes, Some Walmart Stores, Cost Plus, Wegmans, Earth Fare, natural & health foods stores. I Have had feed back from some on Answers who have had even more success using treatment. One had substantial regrowth in just 6 months. Wish you the best. Poll: What are the 10 hair products and the 10 makeup products you can't live without?twenty products just for my hair and face? i think i use about five combined. |:5. what is best shampoo and conditioner for bleached hair.?There are many ingredients, that we BUY EVERYDAY, to avoid to keep us all healthier. Examples all the fresh fruits & vegetables are full of toxic. UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits & Vegetables. For beauty products go to cosmetics info dot org. One is the sun, causes cancer and dry skin. Sulfate is another product. I've used sulfate shampoo & toothpaste for ages! The reason for my healthy silky, shiny, soft & smooth hair then. But avoiding everything, we wo not have a life would we? Everyone is preaching buy organics. But Google organics, they are confusing, too! Gives me headache every time I read something, but people keep buying supplements which are being shipped from China, that are also causing us health problems. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not have to approve supplements - no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality do not apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients. Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11. Natural hair means no relaxer, no chemical to straighten your hair out, no styling heating tools. The way it grows out your root, that's the way you rock it. Even if your hair is damaged or chemically treated, the following worked for me, when my hair was, in the 80's & 90's. CARE: 1. Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS. Hair products just absorb on your hair if they are dry, like a sponge. Shampoo & condition is all you need. Jessica Simpson have figured it out, she said she wash her hair every week. She used to abuse her hair, then start selling hair extensions because her hair starting falling from all the chemicals, but she woke up and found out how to keep her hair healthy AGAIN. When you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos or conditioners, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product do not actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain... along with all the money you spent on the shampoo. It is HOW you use to style your hair or what styling tools that damage the hair, and what chemicals you are adding to the hair, not the shampoo or conditioner. 2. If you want your hair soft, you can briefly blow dry it, set them in curlers or pin curls them, blow dry, let them cool off, take the curlers &/or pins, finger tousle the hair or brush lightly to style. They will be silky & soft & shiny (for straight hair). Google: Imogen Thomas wears rollers in her hair to take out the trash. 3. Cutting your split ends yourself, spend 5-10 mins. on a sunny day so you can easily spot them, using a 2" scissors, cut strand by strand, section by section, allowing new growth to take over. Then 2x a year, get a good hair cut. This wo not speed things up, but it will make the hair look healthier while it's growing. Even healthy hair like mine get them, due to normal brushing & styling. DIET: If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all. Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Do not expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Growing healthy hair does not come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you are in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you are eating healthy foods. But when hair is not growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .
